Educational Dinner with Winemaker Erik Dahle from Tasawik Vineyards

Friday, December 4, 2009
6:00 – 9:00pm
Cost is $75 (tax and gratuities included)

The Portfolio Restaurant, our teaching dining room of The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Seattle, invites the public to an educational wine dinner. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Elliott Bay from the fifth-floor restaurant as you learn about wine and food pairing.

Upper-level students prepare a five-course Northwest menu accompanied by five wines from Tasawik Vineyards: Studio B White, Estate Viognier, Rosé, Sangiovese, and Mistura Red (Tuscan style blend). Learn from Winemaker Erik Dahle and Portfolio Restaurant Manager Dieter Schafer the elements in the food and wine that make them great together.

In 2003 Erik Dahle and business partner, Sara Broetje, planted a seven-acre vineyard at Broetje Orchards, a huge apple orchard that lies in the northwest corner of Walla Walla County. The vineyard overlooks the Snake River, above an old Indian village named Tasawik. Mr. Dahle crafts his exciting wines from fruit primarily sourced from that vineyard.

Reservations are required and may be made by calling (206) 239-2363.
