Advice

If you know your weak spots, strengthen them.
Karlene Minea - Animation Art & Design (BFA program)
Port Townsend, WA

Come to class. Pay attention. Be respectful. Try and be as involved as you can.
Josh Dickman - Audio
Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Get involved as much as possible. My first quarter I didn't do anything. I just came to school and then went home. But next quarter I got involved in DEC which I'm now vice-president of. Get involved because I've made so many great contacts through people and I know that down the line when I graduate, I can contact those people for some hopeful job opportunities.
Adam Oscasio - Fashion Marketing
Stockton, California

Be prepared to have an open mind. Be organized. Show up to class. Stay healthy, watch your diet and get your rest. Use good time management.
Dylan Taylor Kilgore - Graphic Design (BFA program)
Elko, Nevada

You have to give it your all. You have to give 110 percent or more to make it happen. If you’re just here just getting by, you're not really going to get anywhere. It's really up to you. No one is going to push you but yourself to make it happen.
Romel Dealino Jr. - Audio
Seattle, Washington

Show up to class! Absorb as much as you can. Learn to work quickly. Get familiar with your tools.
Monica Marcil - Graphic Design
Helena, Montana

Draw continuously. You'll never be perfect, but practice will make you better. If you've got questions, you need to ask. No question is too dumb. You need to ask questions or you’ll never get to where you want to be.
Austin Thomas - Animation
Los Angeles, California

Keep a daily planner. If I don't write it down I know I'm going to miss some details. Don't put stuff off. Most artists are chronic procrastinators and that doesn't do you any favors.
Katrina Welker - Photography
Lynnwood, Washington
