Choosing a Career

I wanted to pursue the creative artistic side to it (design). I like to build things. I enjoy model-making. But, even beyond models, working on tangible items.
Ben Shenmori – Industrial Design Technology
Douglas, Wyoming

I think some people think fashion design is only pretty dresses & girly stuff, but for me I love to make sportswear and accessories. After I finished sewing my first backpack, I felt like I knew what I wanted to do.
Pui Changpoon - Fashion Design
Thailand

I just started doing an internship with a lady who is a local designer. Just being with her day in and day out and seeing the day of a fashion designer – it’s crazy, because they are so busy. They do this and this and this. I had no idea that that’s what it took to get this stuff out there.
Adam Oscasio - Fashion Marketing
Stockton, California

I don’t want the same job every day. There are so many different fields I can go into with this degree. I like that it’s really hard work but in the end you have something to show for it.
Keri Trine – Interior Design
Kirkland, Washington

Photography is my passion. It’s something I like to do and I came to a point in my life where I needed to decide what I was going to do with a career. I thought this is something I would enjoy doing for the next 20 or 30 years.
Kim Backes - Photography
Bremerton, Washington

I like web page design and flash animation – the technology keeps growing and I can keep learning.
Wen Yong Wu - Multimedia & Web Design
China

At an art school you’re asked to create something that has never been done, on a daily basis. You’re asked to tap into portions of your brain that lie dormant all the time. That’s challenging. To create something has never been done before is challenging. You’re an inventor, except you’re doing it with a pencil.
Austin Thomas - Animation
Los Angeles, California

Right now I’m interning at Screaming Flea and going out on production shoots with them. I love the fact that just by coming to this school I’m able to do that. I don’t think I could have just walked up to them and said, ‘hey, I want to go out on a shoot with you.’ I like the fact that I get experience here.
Kristina Stogner - Video Production
Nashville, Tennessee
