Evolving

I look at the stuff I did two or three years ago and I look at the stuff now and just the quality of the work has evolved. I have a better understanding of everything. To me it’s more like I know what I’m doing now, as opposed to back then I thought I knew what I was doing, but now I actually know what I’m doing.
Kim Backes - Photography
Bremerton, WA

I’ve been given the opportunity to become an adult. I came here right out of high school and I feel like I’ve grown professionally.
Kathryn Clark – Interior Design (BFA)
Enumclaw, Washington

The trick is to not take anything too personally because you’re going to confront all this rejection and stuff. But … its commercial, its business --you’re not going to do what you want. That’s kind of a selfish thing that artists go through. But guess what? The business world isn’t your way. So it is a big change, but to me it feels good because I’m utilizing my skills and I like the challenge of being able to use someone else’s vision.
Karlene Minea – Animation Art & Design (BFA program)
Port Townsend, WA

You have to make your art appeal to a mass audience and not just yourself.
Katrina Welker - Photography
Lynnwood, Washington

My drawing skills have improved. Learning the fundamentals of design has helped me see things in every day life. You look at things differently.
Steven Taylor – IDT
Seattle, Washington

Every quarter my skills are so much better. Starting from the beginning to where I am not – it’s just amazing.
Jack Heffner – Video Production
