Aemono Restaurant

“Silicon Valley has long boasted some of the finest and most eclectic cuisine in the nation, with restaurant menus featuring dishes from a wide variety of regions and culinary cultures. So it comes as no surprise that a school where chefs earn associate and bachelor degrees in the culinary arts has arrived on the local scene.”
-The WAVE Magazine: Volume 8, Issue 24, November 17-30, 2008
“Chefs in Training; Sunnyvale Orders up an Institute for the Culinary Arts”

The fresh faces of tomorrow’s culinary masters are being unveiled at Aemono, the student-run dining facility at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California-Sunnyvale. Opening restaurant doors to the public only two quarters into the curriculum in October of 2008, the culinary team has taken a bold step by awarding students the opportunity to prepare and serve complete meals to paying customers.

The restaurant currently operates as buffet-style, with the food being produced in various classrooms. Over the year, American Regional, Latin American, World, Asian, and Classical European Cuisines, with baked goods produced in our baking and pastry classes will be presented.

The restaurant is open for lunch or dinner service, depending on the course curriculum for the quarter, with menus and facility operating hours available HERE. For more information or to make reservations, please call 408-962-6444.

Wine Dinners
The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California-Sunnyvale invites the community to join us at the Aemono restaurant for five course meals prepared by featured guest chefs and student volunteers each quarter at our highly anticipated Wine Dinners. The dishes created in our kitchens are paired with wines selected to enhance and complement the flavors of the meal; a treat no fine gourmet fan can resist.

The Wine Dinners also serve as an additional opportunity for students to hone their culinary skills through practical application of classroom lessons learned in a restaurant environment. It should also be noted that the lectures presented by our guest chefs and the opportunity to work alongside these seasoned professionals expose students to various styles of food preparation and service; an experience few culinary professionals are granted early on in their careers.

Partial proceeds from each Wine Dinner will go towards student scholarship funds and local non-profit charitable organizations.

Menus and ticket information will be posted on this site upon the announcement of each quarter’s Wine Dinner. For more information, please call 408-962-6444.

The Art of Food
The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California-Sunnyvale is pleased to announce the introduction of non-credit, recreational cooking classes! This is an ideal opportunity for novice chefs to learn techniques, skills, and tricks of the trade as taught by our impressive faculty of industry professionals.

Each three-hour class will include food preparation demonstrations, followed by the physical preparation of the described item by enrolled “students.” Chef instructors will use the materials and equipment provided by The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California-Sunnyvale. The conclusion of the class will bring the aspiring chefs together in our Aemono restaurant to enjoy the undeniably tasty treats prepared that day! Students will receive a gift apron at the end of the class as a celebration of the work accomplished.

Class dates and time, as well as reservation information, will be posted on this site upon the announcement of each quarter’s schedule. For more information, please call 408-962-6444 or email Aemono@aii.edu.
