In order to be considered for acceptance at The Art Institute of Tampa, an application for admission and the enrollment agreement must be completed and signed by the applicant and parent or guardian (if applicable) and submitted to the school. The Art Institute of Tampa requires proof of high school graduation or GED scores. Prospective students are strongly encouraged to visit the school, although a visit is not a condition for submitting the application for admission or enrollment agreement. Arrangements for an interview and tour of the school may be made by contacting the Admissions Department.
Each individual who seeks admission to The Art Institute of Tampa will be interviewed either in person or by telephone by an Assistant Director of Admissions. The purpose of the interview is to:
Explore the prospective student's background interests as they relate to the programs offered at The Art Institute of Tampa.
Assist prospective students with identifying the appropriate area of study consistent with their background and interest.
Provide information concerning curriculum offerings and support services available at The Art Institute of Tampa. The preadmission interview is designed to assist in assessing whether the student has a reasonable chance of successfully completing the appropriate program of study. Other nationally based exams, such as the SAT or ACT, will be considered.
In addition, all prospective students will be required to independently conceive and write two essays of approximately 150 words. The application will list topic choices for the essays.
Additional Requirements
All students must submit a non-refundable Application Fee of $50 with their application for admission. Additionally, an enrollment fee of $100 is due within ten days after an enrollment agreement has been submitted.
The Art Institute of Tampa reserves the right to request any additional information necessary to evaluate an applicant's potential for academic success.
