“The Art of Heartache” at West Tampa Center for the Arts

[Tampa, Fl – Dec. 20, 2011] – Although Valentine’s Day celebrates the triumph of love, everyone knows that sometimes love doesn’t find a way. The other side of love is being recognized in a new exhibit by faculty and students from The Art Institute of Tampa, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design. “The Art of Heartache” opens Friday, Feb. 10, with a public reception from 7 to 10 pm, and remains on view at the West Tampa Center for the Arts through Saturday, Mar. 3. The exhibition offers live media (film and animation), sculpture, and a variety of flat artwork, such as painting, design and illustration. In addition to the exhibition itself, students and faculty in the Graphic Design department have created the show poster and other marketing material.
There is no charge for exhibit admission or for the reception. The West Tampa Center for the Arts is at 1906 N. Armenia, Tampa, FL 33607 in the historic Santaella Cigar Factory building.
