March 25, 2009 – The Art Institute of Tucson congratulates the local winners of The Art Institutes 2009 Annual Poster Design Competition. Two proud winners have received scholarships to attend The Art Institute of Tucson. Shay Sammons of Palo Verde High School is the first place winner of a $3000 scholarship and Brittany Fredette of Rio Rico High School has been awarded second place winner of a $2000 scholarship.
Local first place winners will move on to the national Competition.
The Art Institutes sponsored the Poster Design Competition, a program which awards tuition scholarships of up to $25,000 to study Graphic Design at a participating Art Institute location.
In partnership with the not-for-profit organization Americans for the Arts, The Art Institutes annual Poster Design Competition is an opportunity for talented young artists at the high school level to earn a tuition scholarship to study graphic design. After earning a degree, students may launch a professional career in the graphic design field.
