The Art Institute of Tucson presents 4th annual Sense of Style fashion show
TUCSON, Ariz. – As their academic studies near an end and their professional careers are kick started, Fashion Design students at The Art Institute of Tucson celebrate in style with Bubbly, Bites & Beauty. Senior design collections and several alumni produced garments will hit the runway as onlookers admire the quality craftsmanship and creativity behind the 4th annual Sense of Style fashion show at The Art Institute of Tucson (5099 E. Grant Rd, Suite 100, Tucson), Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m.
The fashion showcase features four senior student collections of 6 – 10 looks representing designers’ visions. The students, graduating seniors of the college’s Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design program, worked under the instruction of industry-savvy faculty as they crafted and pieced together cohesive looks for their final portfolio projects.
Serving as inspirations for these budding designers are The Art Institute of Tucson’s returning Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design alumni students, graduates of the Spring and Summer 2011 classes. Dustin Beaver works as a designer of evening and wedding gowns at Prima Donna in Tucson, while Lydia Holley has also made a seamless transition into the industry as an independent designer selling original pieces via the Internet. The April 28 fashion event will feature two of Beaver’s evening gowns and a wedding dress, as well as an eclectic collection of spring dresses by Holley.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Marketing are also showing their Sense of Style by revamping tired looks and providing 5 individuals with fashion “transformations.” A before and after sequence will be revealed the night of Bubbly, Bites & Beauty.
