On-Site Resident Staff

The School-Sponsored Housing community is staffed with Resident Assistants who assist students in their transition to their new environment. Additionally, they are the first contact persons for all students living in School-Sponsored Housing.

Convenience

No apartment hunt, roommate search or previous rental history required. Costs can typically be built into the student financial plan. The complex boasts easy access to Vancouver’s public transportation system. Close to shopping, cultural activities, and entertainment. Cook at home or eat out at local restaurants.

Furnishings

All units are equipped with the following: couches, coffee tables, desks and chairs, dining tables and chairs, twin beds, dressers, nightstands and lamps. All units have full-size kitchens with refrigerators, stove/oven and dishwashers. All furnishings are subject to change due to space limitations.

Utilities

Basic utilities are included in the rent (electricity, heat, water, garbage/recycling facilities) as well as internet. Please note that telephone and cable TV services are NOT included and are the responsibility of the student(s) to connect and maintain if they so desire.

Programs and Activities

The Residential Life and Housing staff provide a wide array of activities in the student residences. Activities range from socials and “get to know you” events to movie nights, open mic nights or helping to take advantage of the many activities going on in and around the Vancouver area. Some activities are of no charge to the student and many often include food or snacks.

Laundry

The School-Sponsored Housing complex has a communal laundry room in each building open for resident use. The washers and dryers are operated by a “Smartcard” that can be obtained from a Resident Assistant for a deposit fee of $10. The deposit is returned once the Smartcard has been received back at the end of the students stay in housing. Increments of funds can be conveniently loaded onto the Smartcard with a debit or credit card through the machine located in the laundry room.

Parking

There is limited parking for Art Institute of Vancouver students. Parking will be issued on a first come, first served basis. If there are more cars than spaces, the remaining cars will need to be parked in one of the public spaces by the leasing office or on the street next to the complex. Any car that is found parked in a space that is not theirs will be towed at the owner’s expense.
