The Art Institutes system of schools consists of over 45 schools in four geographical regions (Eastern, Mid-Western, Southern, and Western) through the United States and Canada. The Art Institute of Vancouver is in the Western region.



The Art Institute of Vancouver shares organizational structures, administrative computer systems, and support systems with its parent organization, EDMC, but maintains local control over curriculum, policies, procedures, and daily operations. All fiscal management, recruitment, administration, student services, and policies are administered and overseen locally by The Art Institute of Vancouver’s Executive Committee. The President of The Art Institute of Vancouver is the Chief Executive Officer of the institution. His full-time responsibility is the administration of the institution.



The Art Institute of Vancouver Executive Committee operates as the management, operational, business, and strategic decision-making board of The Art Institute of Vancouver. The Executive Committee has the authority to approve policy and business decisions and to set strategic directions consistent with the school’s mission to deliver learning-centred, industry-driven academic programs in the applied arts. The Executive Committee is advised by an Academic Council made up of faculty, students and academic staff.
