The Career Services Department helps lay the foundation for your career search. We are a staff of dedicated advisors who work with students throughout their educational programs. We work with employers to market our graduates and their capabilities. We generate job leads, match graduate skills with employer needs, and help graduates learn the lifelong skill of conducting a successful job search.
At Your Service
The Art Institute of Vancouver maintains a Career Services Office for students. Although we offer no guarantee of employment, considerable effort is made to bring potential employers together with graduates who have the skills employers seek.
The Career Services Office continually seeks new employment opportunities for students. Research is conducted on a regular basis by the college career advisors to gain acknowledge in all areas of business relating to the different majors
Career advisors respond to employer needs, providing guidance to students on industry trends that relate to their course of study. A major function of the Career Services Office is helping students pursue part-time employment while they attend The Art Institute of Vancouver.
During upper quarters, emphasis is placed on assisting students in pursuing field-related part-time jobs, internships, and freelance work in their areas of study. Extensive support is offered to all students during the final quarters in resume preparation and development of interview skills.
Career Services Mission
The mission of the Career Services department at The Art Institute of Vancouver is to provide students and alumni with career preparation in support of their professional goals. We identify opportunities that bridge their educational foundation to the professional world.
What we offer:
- Experienced advisors who provide instruction on key job search skills, resume writing, interviewing, portfolio presentation, and networking.
- One-on-one job search assistance for full-time employment in each student's field of interest.
- Individual job search assistance for students seeking part-time employment while completing his or her program of study.
- Quarterly Portfolio Reviews where employers meet new graduates and view their work.
- Employer presentations and panel discussions, bringing up-to-date information on technology and design trends to The Art Institute of Vancouver community.
- Career days, job fairs, and recruiting at The Art Institute of Vancouver that provide a forum for students and employers to interact.
