Does preparing chicken concasse with Al Roker on the set of The Today Show or demonstrating pistachio encrusted Mahi-Mahi with Ellen DeGeneres sound farfetched for a high school senior? It’s not. Winners in The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef scholarship competition have made national television appearances on The Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show as well as CNN and Fox & Friends after winning the prestigious title Best Teen Chef.

Sponsored by The Art Institutes, including The Art Institute of Vancouver – Dubrulle Culinary Arts, the Best Teen Chef 2007 competition will award one lucky high school senior a full tuition scholarship worth approximately $35,000 to study culinary arts at The Art Institutes plus the prestigious title Best Teen Chef. Student competitors are judged by a panel of professional chefs and Master Chef faculty from The Art Institutes. In all, more than $200,000 in scholarships will be awarded.

The Best Teen Chef competition takes place in two stages. A local competition will be held on March 17, 2007 at The Art Institute of Vancouver – Dubrulle Culinary Arts and other participating Art Institutes locations throughout North America. Following the local competition, 20 finalists will attend the Best Teen Chef 2007 Cook-off to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at The Art Institute of Dallas in Dallas, Texas.

Deadline to enter the competition at is February 9, 2007. You must be a high school senior graduating in 2007 to be eligible. For complete details and to learn how to enter visit www.artinstitutes.edu/btc or contact Cliff Jones at 604-639-5117 or cjones@aii.edu.
