Welcome to School-Sponsored Housing at The Art Institute of Vancouver! We hope that you choose to become part of our Student Housing community. School-Sponsored Housing is often a perfect compromise between students and parents as it provides an environment that is a step between living at home and living on your own.
Many of the lasting connections and memories you’ll make at school will happen outside of the classroom. School-Sponsored Housing gives you the opportunity to connect with your classmates on a daily basis.
The Art Institute of Vancouver contracts with a local apartment/townhouse complex located in Vancouver to provide housing to students who wish to live in an environment with fellow Art Institute of Vancouver students*. Some of the benefits of this option include:
Whether you are a student moving away from home for the first time or you’re just trying to find a new apartment outside of School-Sponsored Housing, the Residential Life and Housing staff at The Art Institute of Vancouver wants to make sure that you have comfortable, affordable, and convenient housing options. We’re here to help you assess your needs and provide resources to get you started on the process of finding an appropriate place to live, whether in School-Sponsored Housing or a place independent of The Art Institute of Vancouver.
While School-Sponsored Housing is a great option for some students, it is also not for everyone. We urge you to read carefully through all the information contained in this website to help you decide if School-Sponsored Housing is the right option for you.
*Please note that the complex in which Student Housing is located is a publicly rented facility and is not strictly student housing. The Art Institute of Vancouver units that are contracted for Student Housing are interspersed with the general population of the complex.

School Sponsored Housing Quotes
“I am enjoying school sponsored housing, being around other students adds to the college experience, it just doesn’t get any better than that. I chose school sponsored housing, because it just added to the experience of studying abroad. I came here all by myself and housing has now become my extended family. I have met so many people.”
-Janet Vargas, School Sponsored Housing RA
“I decided to live in housing because I was new to the area and didn’t know anyone. I have met lots of good friends because of that decision. I also enjoy the activities and events, they have helped me meet people. “
-Dana Whynot, Resident School Sponsored Housing
“There are a lot of people from my home town that I never knew until I moved into school sponsored housing.”
