Creative InspirationFoundations of graphic design and typography, combined with the “newness” of the web and interactive media initially compelled Nathan. But what really intrigued him was the potential this living, breathing medium had for making an immediate impact on its users in a revolutionary way. Not only would Nathan's audiences see his design, they would interact with it, use it as a tool. He had seen his generation turning to the online space for education, entertainment and culture. Learning and experiencing brands online seemed to be the next evolution. He really enjoys rendering ideas on this stage which is a truly dynamic and captivating arena.
Getting out thereNathan chose to go to Bradley Academy because they were an early adopter of the Digital Media curriculum. “It just didn’t exist as much anywhere else” he says. Nathan was jazzed by the progressive curriculum and the fast pace; he's found that the things he liked while he was at Bradley are the same things that the industry demands of him now. Thinking on your feet and designing ahead of the curve – and doing it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
More than ever, Nathan appreciates the advice he got from the seasoned professionals who were his instructors. The real life experiences they related in the classroom have been invaluable to Nathan as he's advanced rapidly as a professional. He feels as though students can feel confident upon graduating because they will have all the training necessary for a great start.
Nathan has earned seven Baltimore Market AAB Addy Awards, the Advertising Association Regional Addy Award, the Telly Award, a Macromedia Site of the Day Award, and two Webby Honoree Awards. Nathan is a disciple of the Steve Jobs theory of creativity: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
