Alumni Success Story
Will Schwark What is Will doing today?

Will is currently a Graphic Designer for Cabela’s located in Sidney, Nebraska. The bulk of his work consists of collateral material.  This includes brochures, posters, elf-mailers, gift cards, advertisements and any other sort of promotional material for special events going on at their retail stores.  His day can be as diverse as far as the types of projects he is working on because most of the time he is working on several projects at once, usually with very tight deadlines.  Will finds it easy to be productive when working on the fun things like designing logos, posters, and brochures.  Will’s list of clients include wildlife photographer Lee Kjos who’s best known for his stunning photographs of “duck dogs” most especially Labrador Retrievers. Will worked with Lee on his 2007 Hunting Labs Calendar. He has also created posters for Cabela’s sponsored Iditarod racer Jeff King whose list of accomplishments include the 1,049 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race most recently completed in 2006 and also over two dozen first place finishes in races all across Alaska.

Creative inspiration

Will was always interested in art from a young age, mostly inspired by the impressionist artists.  When he was in high school he wanted to have a career in art but he didn’t want to be a “starving artist.”  He chose Graphic Design because he wanted to create functional art that would still lend itself to creativity.

Getting out there

While attending Bradley Academy there wasn’t a class that Will didn’t enjoy!  At the top of his list though were Design History and Typography.  Will took advantage of any opportunity that he could while he was in school.  He designed schedule posters for Gold’s Gym and during his 6th term was added to Bradley Academy Feature Student Showcase.

“Make the best of your time at Bradley and really assert yourself.  Time will fly by and you will graduate before you even know it.  All your hard work will pay off in the end.  Also, eat your vegetables and don’t forget to tie your shoes!” -Will Schwark
