Career Services
Employment Assistance
The Art Institute of York Pennsylvania takes a very active role in the job search process. The Art Institute of York Pennsylvania maintains a Graduate Services office to assist students and graduates in their job search. In the final term, all students take a Professional Development or Career Skills course tailored to their career field. This course includes instruction about the job search process, including interview techniques, resumé preparation and portfolio presentation.
Student skills are showcased to area employers at portfolio and fashion shows as well as to faculty review panels. Our commitment to the community allows students to use their skills doing projects for area nonprofit organizations. Frequently this work is later included in portfolios or on resumés. These efforts have benefited:
- Make-A-Wish-Foundation
- NASA
- Habitat for Humanity
- Working Against Violence Everywhere (WAVE)
- Harrisburg Housing Authority
- Red Cross
- American Cancer Society
- Muscular Dystrophy Association
- First Night York
- A variety of United Way agencies
