23rd Avenue Collections Fashion Show

What is the best thing about producing a fashion show at The Art Institute of Phoenix?  Getting to showcase the incredible talent that exists not only in the Fashion department but in the Culinary, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Fashion Marketing & Management, Fashion Design, Visual Design, Animation, and Digital Photography programs as well!  This phenomenal, collaborative effort took place on March 17, 2017 at dusk on the north lawn of The Art Institute of Phoenix with the audience being directed to look at the 23rd Avenue road sign. Guests arrived to lite bites and refreshing “mocktails” followed by a dramatic ice carving demonstration by Chef instructor Leible, which set the tone for a dazzling fashion show complete with paparazzi, film crew, and an audience of over 300 people.

The fashion show featured 60 models wearing couture collections by 12 students working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design. The stage was enhanced by motion graphics and custom staging.  The Art Institute of Phoenix’s talented Graphic Design students, under the direction of Alison King, conceptualized and created the entire 23rd Avenue Collections brand, staging, and collateral to showcase the final designs of our advanced and graduating students in Fashion Design.  The show concluded with a portfolio “meet and greet” opportunity showcasing the Look Books, sketches, and collateral that represented each designer’s brand. Guests were also treated to photo ops with the models and their designers in front of a custom designed step and repeat.
