Ai Culinary Director Invited to Speak on Gastrodiplomacy

Chef Mauro Rossi, Culinary Director at The Art Institute of California—Hollywood, a campus of Argosy University, has been invited to speak at the University of Southern California (USC) on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, as part of a panel discussion on gastrodiplomacy.
Gastrodiplomacy, also known as culinary diplomacy, is the idea that food can connect cultures, break down cultural boundaries, and introduce people to new experiences.
The panel discussion will take place on the USC campus and feature Chef Rossi alongside Chef Eric Ernest, Executive Chef of USC Hospitality. The discussion will be held as part of a USC course titled Public Diplomacy in Los Angeles, which explores how the city forms multicultural connections and engages with the international community through culture, economics, tourism, art, and food.
About Chef Rossi
A native Italian, Chef Mauro Rossi has been in the Culinary industry since 1980. During his career, he’s travelled the globe, exploring and working with a variety of cuisines in America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Sweden. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and also holds a master’s degree in Anthropology with a concentration in food and culture.
In addition to his current role with The Art Institute of California—Hollywood, Chef Rossi has served as the chef for Michel Richard’s Citrus in Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo and as the executive chef at Café Pinot and Pinot Hollywood. He previously owned several restaurants in New Zealand.
