Ai Washington Students Design 2017 Rosebud Film Festival Programs
For 27 years, the Rosebud Film Festival has honored innovative, locally produced work from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia filmmakers.
This year, The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, supported that important tradition and mission as a festival sponsor. As part of that sponsorship, students in Ai Washington’s Art Direction course were tasked with designing a program book for the January festival, featuring a letter from the director, a list of showcased films, and a sponsorship page. Upon completing the design, the class also printed the 200 program books in-house, allowing students to gain valuable insight into the end-to-end process of producing print design for clients.
Among the 20 films selected by a panel of judges to be recognized and shown at the festival was Bar Quixote, a short film by alumnus Matthew Benedict who earned his Diploma in Video Skills.
In addition to the film festival screening, Bar Quixote and the rest of the top 20 films will be broadcast on local channels, Comcast 69 and Verizon 38, in Arlington County throughout the year. For more information on the Rosebud Film Festival, visit https://www.arlingtonmedia.org/rosebud.
