Photoshop: Image Pop Outs and the Snapshot Focus Effect

About: Add some creativity to your images using Photoshop! During this webinar, we will showcase one or two tutorials that you can utilize in Photoshop. The first tutorial will showcase how to make part of the image pop out from the photo. We will use a wedding photo that will showcase the couple looking like they are walking outside of the photo. The second tutorial is similar to the pop out, but will showcase how to create a snapshot focus effect on an image.

Art History Live! Man of Fire: The Murals of the Hospicio Cabañas by Jose Clemente Orozco

About: The mural series at the Hospicio Cabañas Cultural Institute in Guadalajara, Mexico is one of the finest and most extensive murals in North America. It tells an epic story of the clash of two cultures and attempts to reconcile them in a mestizo identity born of conflict, violence and trauma. We will explore the images that visually narrate the unfolding of modern Mexican identity in the Post-Colonial period.

About: Hosted by Professor Nina Stanley, these interactive drawing sessions will focus on techniques used in gesture drawing of humans and animals in various media formats. The sessions will feature live gesture drawing of figures and animals, anatomical study, media demonstrations, and will offer general artistic fun and comradery. These sessions are open to everyone!

ART1000 Live!

When: Wednesday nights! 7:00pm-8:00pm ET

About: The full-time faculty staff of the General Education Art Department will be hosting these one hour, weekly sessions to help you enrich your grasp of the material and gain useful assignment guidance. Individual questions will be answered so come ready to talk or just sit back and listen in. Extra credit will be offered! Students may earn 10 points per week for a total of 30 extra credit points in ART1000 for attending.

MTH1010 Live!

When: Monday nights! 7:30pm-8:30pm ET 

About: You are invited to a 60-minute weekly informal study session with a full-time math faculty member every Monday evening. These weekly sessions are designed to answer any questions you may have, help you enrich your grasp of the material and gain useful assignment guidance. Attending each session is worth 10 bonus points for a maximum of 30 points toward the total points earned for the MTH1010 course. Please come prepared with specific questions to help you best. Certainly all questions are welcome but general questions are difficult to answer in a short period of time.
