Silverberg, who's professional name is “Hank,” is an award-winning journalist who has covered and written about the events that shape the world on radio and TV for four decades. Silverberg, who teaches Communications at Ai Washington, emphasizes to his students that they need to upgrade their writing, be creative in their thinking, and always give correct citations for facts, quotes, or artwork. “I also relate how many times my books were edited before they were published and how they need to proof their own work,” Silverberg said. "They need to be able to handle critiques of their work with professionalism and be ready for criticism" he said, something you learn the hard way as a writer.

A native of New England, Silverberg has lived in Virginia for more than 25 years. His first book, “If the Log Rolls Over,” was published in 2005. His second, “News of War," the prequel to “The Campaign,” was published in 2007, which makes this his third novel.

The backdrop is a War with Iran, a dying President and a grueling election campaign a unique scenario for this new political thriller. “They say you write what you know and, since I was a political reporter for 38 years, I wrote about reporters and politicians. I thought it would be a good read with a bizarre plot twist,” he said.

The book plays out real-world possibilities in the complexity of the 21st century, giving readers a view of how reporters and politicians think. If you follow politics, are a news junkie or you are just interested in world events, you will enjoy this book.

“The Campaign” is available at Amazon and Barns & Noble Bookstore.
