September 30, 2016
Bianca Zidik, who recently participated in New York Fashion Week, was interviewed by WGN-TV about her experience. She told the station's news anchors that she'd always dreamed of creating a fashion line that was fun, colorful, and loud. Bianca, who in 2016 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago, Skyped in for the interview.
Bianca’s fashion-forward clothing line, “Carnaby Street,” is based upon her fashion philosophies of being fun, funky, and free-spirited. She discovered her love for creating ready-to-wear garments at the young age of nine. As a teenager, she worked in alterations at David’s Bridal before beginning her studies at The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago.
While a student, she was selected to present one of her collections at the Driehaus Design Initiative for Fashion Excellence, an awards program that celebrates the future of fashion by showcasing emerging Chicago fashion design students. She also interned for Macy’s Chicago Fashion Incubator and earned the “Best of Show” award at The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago’s fashion show.
