On January 24, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale welcomed more than 50 advisors, counselors, and teachers from Broward County Public School’s (BCPS) BRACE (Broward Advisors for Continuing Education) program to campus.

In addition to their regularly-scheduled monthly meeting, BRACE advisors met with members of Ai Fort Lauderdale’s executive leadership team to learn more about the school’s legacy and academic programs. Senior Director of Admissions, Debra Bartkowski, spoke to the counselors about Ai Fort Lauderdale’s lasting relationship with BCPS and discussed plans for Ai Fort Lauderdale’s future growth.

BRACE members enjoyed a lunch courtesy of Fort Lauderdale’s Culinary Department which included a sampling of dishes created by Ai Fort Lauderdale student chefs and former BCPS students. Following the meeting, counselors toured campus and spoke to admissions staff about Ai Fort Lauderdale programming including College Bound.

The BRACE Program is unique to the Broward County School System. BRACE advisors work with guidance counselors to provide students with information about college planning including scholarships, financial aid and the college application process.

The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale will again play host to BCPS teachers and students during the spring of 2017. From February 9 – March 15, 2017 Ai Fort Lauderdale will host the Broward Art Educators Association for an annual gallery exhibition followed by a first-ever BCPS student art exhibit from March 30 through April 27, 2017.
