The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, is thrilled to host and participate in this year’s California FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) competition—supporting activities in the areas of the Fashion, Interior Design, and Culinary.

With over 160,000 members across chapters in 47 states, FCCLA is dedicated to helping individuals develop the career and leadership skills needed to succeed in home, community, and professional life. In the state of California, California FCCLA helps student members in grades 6-12 to sharpen their personal leadership and career skills through competitive recognition events, leadership development activities, and community service projects.

This Sunday, April 9, 2017, the State competition will take place at the Riverside Convention Center and The Art Institute of California-Inland Empire (Ai California—Inland Empire). Competitions held at our campus will focus on culinary skills. Participants will use three of our kitchens, with dishes to be judged by
chefs from Ai California—Inland Empire, including faculty, alumni, and current students.

At the Convention Center, competitions will encompass the areas of Interior Design, Fashion, Culinary Display, Mathematics, and Applied Science, with activities judged by chefs and alumni from the

Inland Empire, Sacramento, and San Diego campuses of the Art Institutes system of schools.

Also in attendance will be Ai California–Inland Empire instructor Ken Kinoshita and other staff teaching demonstrations in Media Arts and Cake Trends. Chef Katherina Griley, Academic Director of Culinary at The Art Institute of California—Sacramento, a campus of Argosy University, will lead an additional demo on Monday.

Monday will also feature a college and career fair where representatives from our Inland Empire and Sacramento locations will be on hand to answer student questions, talk about scholarship opportunities, and discuss the
College Bound Programs. Staff from other colleges throughout the region will also be attending.

An awards ceremony and recognition event will be held on Tuesday, where scholarships from various colleges and companies, including The Art Institutes, will be awarded.
