Friendsgiving: Simple Recipes to Share the Turkey Love With Your Besties

Who has time to make a huge turkey dinner when there’s Black Friday shopping to plot out? With The Art Institutes’ Friendsgiving recipes, you can quickly and easily put together a swoon-worthy meal for friends that utilizes prepackaged and simple to prepare ingredients.

The great news? No oven needed. No potatoes to peel. And individual pumpkin pies!

From deli turkey tacos with cranberry salsa to stuffing balls, jazzed up mashed potatoes, and herbed veggies, your blender and microwave will do the heavy lifting for you. If time allows, chop onion and tomato for your taco toppings, or buy it already prepared in your supermarket produce section.

Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be a day spent in the kitchen. With these recipes, you’ll add a decidedly 2015 vibe to turkey day while keeping your schedule open for socializing and celebrating the holiday.

Check out these easy recipes, and impress your friends with your brand new herb-infused, bacon-loving culinary skills.


Deli turkey tacos 

Toppings

  • Red onion 1/8 cup
  • Tomato 1/8 cup
  • Sprinkle of cheese

Add turkey and toppings onto tortilla

Optional steps:

  • Pan fry turkey till golden brown
  • Add cranberry salsa (below) as topping


Cranberry salsa

Combine the following in blender:

  • Lemon 1/2
  • Lime ½
  • Cilantro ¼ cup
  • Jalapeno ½
  • Red Onion ½
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Blend until favored consistency met.


Stuffing balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of stuffing
  • 1½ cups water

Mix and microwave according to box. Let cool for 5-10 minutes. Wet hands and roll into balls. Sauté with butter until brown.


Instant mashed potatoes (made better)

Ingredients:

  • One instant potato package
  • 1 2/4 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp Butter

Mix an microwave according to box directions.

Add toppings:

  • ¼ cup chopped bacon
  • ¼ cup Chives
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • Butter to taste


Steamed Veggie Medley

Steam microwave vegetable pack according to box

Add:

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • ½ salt
  • ½ tsp pepper


Pumpkin Pie Cake Mugs

(Directions per mug)

Grease mug and add:

  • 1 tbsp. melted butter
  • ¼ cup crushed Graham crackers

Mix Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbsp. heavy cream
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. white sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice

Add ingredients into mug. Microwave for up to 5 minutes, checking at one minute intervals for consistency.

Top with:

  • Caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Cinnamon
