On Friday, Feb. 12, 2017 Fashion Design students from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale partnered with the Graphics of the Americas Exposition and Trade Show to host the Inkon Couture Fashion Show at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.

Ai Fort Lauderdale Inkon Couture Fashion Show

Graphics of the Americas (GOA), produced by the Printing Association of Florida, is an annual trade association for the printing and graphic arts industry. GOA is one of the largest combined exposition and education events in the U.S. attracting more than 8,000 printers, designers, and creative professionals from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

The Inkon Couture Fashion Show was a first-of-its-kind event for GOA bringing together the fashion garment industry with the printers that produce the patterns and designs used in garment making. Using a variety of printing processes, Fashion Design students from Ai Fort Lauderdale created one-of-a-kind garments that were showcased on the runway to GOA attendees.

In addition to the fashion show, Ai Fort Lauderdale students and faculty were provided complimentary and reduced fee entry to various GOA sessions and the general exposition.

The GOA Exposition and Trade Show took place from February 16 – February 18, 2017. The event is returning to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center for 2018.
