By: The Art Institutes

November 8, 2016

Recently, a team of students from The Art Institute of Houston participated in the “Hops ‘n Hogs” competition, which challenged local restaurants and culinary schools to include pork and Saint Arnold’s beer in their recipes. Students from The Art Institute of Houston created slow braised ribs with a balsamic and Saint Arnold Lawnmower BBQ sauce accompanied by jalapeno lime coleslaw. This dish earned them 1st place in the people’s choice awards, as well as a scholarship award.

The event was held at Saint Arnold’s Brewery and the goal of the event is to provide scholarships and mentoring to college students in culinary related fields of study and to provide networking opportunities for food professionals in the Houston area.
