Instructor Mary Broding Selected for AP Reading in Art History
June 20, 2017
Mary Broding, program coordinator for general education, The Art Institute of California—San Diego, a campus of Argosy University was recently selected to participate in the College Board’s Annual Advanced Placement Program® (AP) reading in art history. AP teachers and college faculty members from around the world meet in June of each year to evaluate and score the free-response sections of the AP Exams.
According to AP, readers are high school and college educators who represent many of the world’s leading academic institutions.
The AP program provides an opportunity for students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. Those in the program can earn college credit, advanced placement or both. AP courses are offered in 38 subjects, each culminating in a rigorous exam. The program teaches students to analyze complex problems, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue.
