Ivan Preciado, who is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design at The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, recently created a street art mural to raise awareness for mental and physical health.
Preciado has helped to create many murals, events, and projects in the Inland Empire region. He’s been recognized the murals he created for the The Hard Rock Hotel, Wix, NBC Universal, Melrose Elementary School, many California breweries, and the City of San Francisco.
Preciado has also painted murals for The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire and The Art Institute of California—Orange County.
The University of Redlands, which created the initiative for raise awareness for mental and physical health, approached Preciado and asked him to work on a campaign that will spark the interest of students across Southern California. The piece was inspired by mental health and represents the releasing of toxic habits or causes that are harming physically.
Applications are being distributed to area schools so that the piece may travel and remain at a school for a specific period of time to raise awareness through each campus. It will move from school to school for 11 months, finishing on the University of Redlands campus.
