On Saturday, August 19th Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted its 6th annual White Gala fundraising night to support Kids in Distress, “a licensed nationally accredited agency working for the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family, and the treatment of abused and neglected children.”

The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale was integral in helping with the event. The 303 Design Group, the graphics honors group at Ai Fort Lauderdale, designed both the Save the Dates and Invitations for the event. Additionally, they came up with a clever fundraising auction item—wooden toys to be painted by children and sold at auction for $40 during the evening as a fun, creative way to generate funds for the cause.

Chef Kane and his culinary students prepared delicious food for event attendees, and a select few of Ai Fort Lauderdale Fashion Design students provided guests with a tearoom fashion show.
