Maria D’Ocon, a 20-year-old student at Miami International University of Art & Design, participated in New York Fashion Week and was featured in the Miami Herald regarding her designs.

Born in Spain, Maria was exposed to European history, art and diverse cultural influences at an early age. Maria moved to Miami to focus on a career in fashion and was recently selected to intern at the prestigious bridal house Pronovias in Barcelona. Her most recent collection “Destination” was inspired by the architectural influence of Spain’s cosmopolitan cities along with the beauty of the rugged Spanish countryside.

“My line is very nontraditional,” said D’Ocon, originally from Barcelona. “Definitely wearable to cocktail parties or special occasions — a lot of sheer, transparent fabrics and lace.”

D’Ocon is working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at Miami International University of Art & Design.
