Students in the Interior Design (BFA) program at The Art Institute of Portland recently visited a new office space that’s under construction. The design firm responsible for the construction, Ankrom Moisan, had architects onsite to give the students a tour of the space and to show them what a build-out looks like. The students learned about the exposed heavy timber structural system—as well as coordinating the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a modern exposed ceiling space.

Architectural firm Ankrom Moisan was formed in 1983 and provides integrated architectural, interior design, and urban design services to its clients.
