Interior Design students from The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham, a campus of South University, were recently awarded the Manager’s Choice award at the Raleigh Home Show. The students are all working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.

The students reimagined versions of shipping containers turned into living spaces. This has become a popular home upcycling trend. The students, members of the school’s American Society of Interior Designers Student Chapter re-imagined four spaces including:

  • Rustic Dining by student designers Kaysie Blazekovich & Bajha Huggins
  • Man Cave by student designers Zachary Schiller & Jasmine Sanges, complete with a custom bar created from pallets
  • Re-invented Workspace by Emily Laivins and Mary Honeycutt
  • Loft Room by Zachary Schiller Jasine Sanges, Emily Laivins and Kaysie Blazekovich
