Recently, students, faculty, and family members from The Art Institute of Austin, a branch of The Art Institute of Houston, joined forces to assist the Sustainable Food Center of Austin. The volunteers were given a tour of the Sustainable Food Center’s facility, which included community garden plots, a beehive section, teaching gardens, and a sensory garden for kids.

The volunteers then went to work cleaning up the teaching gardens for the fall season. They pulled weeds, mulched, and moved rocks. The gardens are used to teach people how to start their own organic gardens.
