The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale hosted members of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale for its quarterly Power Mixer on Sept. 12, 2016. More than 100 members of the organization attended the event, held at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Mark K. Wheeler Gallery.

At the event, student and faculty work was on display. Culinary faculty and students provided guests with hors d’ oeuvres and refreshments while the fashion department displayed student-designed evening wear. The “Big Natured” exhibition, currently hanging in the Wheeler Gallery, gave Riverwalk members the opportunity to view large format photography celebrating the natural world. The exhibit consists of photographs from three faculty members at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale: Larry Gatz, Josh Kanies, and V. Evers.

The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is a member of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization responsible for the planning, programming, beautification and promotion of Riverwalk Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
