Culinary Students Serve Up Lunch for Those In Need

Recently, Culinary students from The International Culinary School at The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago served StrEAT Food from around the world to raise funds for The Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Chef Michael Howe, instructor at the school, guided six of his students in planning and executing this “Eat for Chicago” fundraiser with assistance from the Campus Relations department.
Patrons were encouraged to bring in caned goods to receive up to $2 off of lunch. The lunch menu included Crispy Halibut Tacos, Portobello Sliders, Duck Poutine, Buffalo Chicken Sausage, and Whoopie Pies.
Through their efforts, the students were able to raise $250, which equates to 750 meals for those in need.
