Audio Students Join Actor Gary Sinise and The Lieutenant Dan Band on Tour to Raise Funds for Veteran
March 10, 2015
(SCHAUMBURG, IL September 2013) – Audio students at The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg received some real-world experience, assisting Tristan Beache, Academic Department Director of Media Arts, with several high profile recording artists, productions and recordings. Among these productions was a non-profit fundraiser for a severely wounded soldier.
These experiences included working with Todd Kessler, a contestant on The Voice, in a recording session and guest lecture. The students also worked with Gary Sinise & The Lieutenant Dan Band during a rehearsal on campus and were part of the band’s crew at Ravinia Park.
The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg and Tristan Beache donated a sound system and student help to produce a fund-raiser with Katherine McPhee of American Idol and Gary Sinise for veteran Taylor Morris, a quad amputee. This was a unique opportunity for the students to work with high profile performance acts while doing public service. During opportunities such as this, students shoot photos, set up sound, and film. The Gary Sinise Foundation is raising money through concerts and celebrity events to build homes for severely wounded vets. Students had a direct impact on helping raise funds for Taylor Morris.
