(DENVER, CO December 2015) - The Art Institute of Colorado teamed up with Denver Animal Shelter and Furry Little World for the first annual “Rescue Runway” Fashion Show and Silent Auction, on Friday, December 4, at Pinehurst Country Club. Shelter dogs got the model treatment as they trotted down the catwalk in custom garments designed by fashion students at The Art Institute of Colorado. Twenty-eight students created 26 looks for the human models and 19 looks for the canine models, all inspired by fairy tales, most notably Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and Pinocchio. All proceeds benefited Denver Animal Shelter, and all of the puppies in the show were adopted.

Along with creating all of the garments in the show, students also produced and managed all aspects of the fashion show. One of the models was local celebrity/radio personality and pet lover Emily Makinzie.
