Atlanta Photography Students Recognized as Graphis New Talent

The exceptional talent of four photography students at The Art Institute of Atlanta is showcased in the publication for this year’s Graphis New Talent competition – a national forum known for spotlighting and promoting rising talent in design, advertising, photography, and art/illustration.

The winning students, who will have their work published and viewed by an international audience, are:

Alten Hayes - AA Photography, 2021 - 2 Gold Awards
Manual Menendez - BFA Photography, 2020 - 2 Silver Awards
Daniela Valdes - AA Photography, 2020 - 2 Silver Awards
Favio Reyes - AA Photography, 2021 - 1 Gold and 1 Honorable Mention Award

Receiving an award is a great honor for the winners, whose work is now preserved alongside notable artwork spanning Graphis’ history from 1944 – present.

In order to place in the competition, entries were judged by advertising, design, and photography professionals including Roy Burns III (Lewis Communications), Peter Renigeris (ABC Made), XiongBo Deng (ShenZhen Lingyun Creative Packaging Design Co., Ltd.), Anna Farkas (Anagraphic), Annette Harcus (Harcus Design), Lindsay Siu (Lindsay Siu Photography), and Armand Tamboly (Tamboly Photodesign).

According to the company, “in our hardcover Annuals, Platinum and Gold winners receive full-page exposure, and Silver and Merit Winners are also visually presented.” Each competition results in up to 500 entries being included in the online archive.
