The Art Institute of Washington Hits the Runway with “Fashion 48”
June 14, 2016
The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, held its annual fashion show on June 1, 2016. The show, titled “Fashion 48,” was a designer’s showcase produced by the school’s Fashion Show Production class. Eight designers were featured, including students and local up-and-coming designers.
“Fashion 48” was held at the Rosslyn Spectrum Theater in Arlington, Virginia. Doors opened a few hours before showtime, giving attendees time to pick-up giveaways including free movie tickets, nibble on brownies, and take photos in front of the step-and-repeat.
Showcased designs included everything from gowns to African-inspired wear. The popular Washington, D.C. based boutique “Plato’s Closet” was also featured at the show.
