The Illinois Institute of Art - Tinley Park Shines a Light on Community’s High School Teachers
February 18, 2013
The Illinois Institute of Art - Tinley Park joins The Art Institutes schools across the nation in paying tribute to talented high school arts and media educators in a gallery show: What Those Who Teach Can Do from March 1 – 31.
“We’re celebrating what these educators do in our community by hosting their work in our gallery,” said John Jenkins, president of The Illinois Institute of Art - Tinley Park. “Teachers work endlessly to cultivate skills and talents in our area’s high school students, and now we want to shine a light on the talent they use everyday to inspire.”
More than 50 Art Institutes locations in the United States will host What Those Who Teach Can Do. This will mark The Art Institutes’ second nationwide gallery highlighting the artistic work of local high school educators. “The truth is that teachers do so much, more than we can ever see,” said Jenkins.
The Illinois Institute of Art - Tinley Park invites the public, family, friends and students of the artists to attend the reception on March 14, 2013 at no charge.
