Digital PhotographyDegree Programs

Pursue your vision of a full-time photography career.

I want my images to stand out from the competition.

Only the most skilled photographers, the hardest workers, the ones with a different point of view, succeed in this competitive field. That’s why you’re here. You’re ready to accept direction and tough critique, to be challenged, to learn by putting in more effort and taking more photos than you ever thought needed—all because photography is your passion.

In our Digital Photography schools, you can develop the creative instincts and technical knowledge required to capture the world as only you see it. It’ll take lots of practice and commitment, but in the end, you’ll be equipped to pursue a career doing what you love.

I need a Photography program that pushes me past my comfort zone.

At The Art Institutes system of schools, you’ll join a creative community like no other. In our hands-on Digital Photography classes, our faculty draw on industry experience to provide individualized guidance and feedback as they challenge you to try new techniques and ideas. You’ll explore not only topics like composition, digital image management, post-production editing, and even video, but also how to make clients feel at ease, how to problem-solve on the fly, and how to effectively juggle the roles of photography technician, producer, and director during a shoot.

Outside the classroom, you can join student organizations, participate in industry events, and draw inspiration from the many other talented, creative thinkers throughout the school.

I’m ready to focus in on my goals.

Serious about building your career? So are we. From your very first day of Digital Photography classes, you’ll be completing pieces for your professional portfolio—and later, you’ll devote a full course to refining your portfolio for potential employers. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience working with professional lighting and camera equipment in the studio and on location. You’ll even study the business of photography, honing the creative thinking, confidence, and communication skills you’ll use every day as a professional photographer.

After earning your Photography degree, you’ll be ready to enter entry-level roles in diverse areas, from editorial photography to advertising to portraiture, and our Career Services advisors can help connect you with opportunities that match your talent and ambition.
