Comic Book Artist Bob McLeod Demos During Guest Speaker Series
Author & illustrator Bob McLeod, best known for co-creating the New Mutants with writer Chris Claremont, was the special guest on March 1 at The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta.
McLeod demonstrated some techniques during a drawing session and was later interviewed. His visit was adapted into the titled program Guest Speaker Series, an opportunity for students to learn from high-profile individuals from the professional and business world from a range of backgrounds and disciplines in creative arts. The Guest Speaker Series events are always filmed in-housed with a Q&A interview with the special guest.
McLeod began his career working in the production department of Marvel Comics in 1973 on a recommendation from Neal Adams. He began penciling and inking for Marvel's Crazy Magazine, doing several movie satires and the Teen Hulk strip. Students in the Multi-Camera class pursuing degrees in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production are the directors and producers of the Guest Speaker Series.
