Ai Washington Reconnects with Alumni
March 2, 2017
The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, held an event for its alumni last month where Washington, DC area graduates were treated to a networking reception and a fashion show. The purpose of the event was for alumni to reconnect and network with the Ai community. Robert Reffell and Stephen Davis Heslip were two of the keynote speakers during the reception. Both earned a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Management.
“It is always our pleasure to host events throughout the year for our alumni,” said Candace Morgan, dean of student services. “This particular event was special because we received feedback from grads and they would like to engage more with the current students.”
This positive feedback has led the team to planning another alumni event which will include a meet and greet with the current students.
The fashion show presentation was curated by alumnae Sharnice Breeden. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing & Management from AiW. The designs of current students were featured during the show.
