Ai Washington Celebrates National School Counseling Week
February 14, 2017
National School Counseling Week sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) was celebrated February 6-10, 2017 to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems.
The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, joined in on the celebration by attending Loudoun County Public Schools Administration Building on February 9 and presented to a group of more than 150 school counselors. At least 60 of those counselors are from high schools in Loudoun County, Virginia.
National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. The special week honored school counselors provides recognition for school counselors who implement comprehensive school counseling programs, a vital part of the educational process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.
High School Rep NaNette James and Campus Relations Director Tiffany Young were in attendance and brought brownies made by Chef Andrew Policelli.
