The Art Institute of Washington Celebrates Local Teachers with Gallery Reception

During Teacher Appreciation Week, The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, GA, gathered educators together in the Washington, DC area for an art gallery reception in their honor on May 4.
The campus is currently exhibiting: A Designer’s Retrospective, a gallery show about the life of a local Arlington, VA resident and artist. Many of the teachers that were invited are art teachers or culinary specialists working in Prince George’s County Public Schools and Fairfax County Public Schools. The teachers were treated to hors d’ oeuvres prepared by the Culinary Arts Department and presented with gift bags.
Special guest included a representative from Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA) office from the 8th District.
Teacher Appreciation Week is a week-long celebration in the United States observed the first full week in May. Several businesses are showing their appreciation to the nation's teachers by offering them special discounts and freebies.
