Students and graduates from the Digital Filmmaking & Video Production program were interviewed on Oct. 25 by ‘Arlington In The Morning’ radio host Ulysses Campbell on WERA 96.7FM about their shorts films being shown this year at the Washington West Film Festival. This is the first year The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, is participating at the festival, but the budding filmmakers are no stranger to film festivals.
Alvaro Huezo and Justin Coupe both earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and have projects in the Poe Film Festival on Nov. 4.
The students and alumni spoke about their work and the process it takes to start and complete a film and, ultimately, getting recognized for the work. Instructor Paul Awad joined the group and led the interview by giving some background information on the festival and plugging in Ai Washington's festival, Visually Wired, that takes place annually.
