Culinary Student Wins Locally in the "Mexican Tradition of Menudo" Competition

Sarvar Moghavem won a $500 scholarship and will advance as a finalist in the Juanita’s Foods culinary program national competition. Moghavem is pursuing a diploma in Culinary Arts at The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta.

Juanita’s Foods partnered with several schools at The Art Institutes system of schools to create a cooking competition that celebrates Mexican culinary traditions known as ‘menudo.’  The competition’s objective is to stimulate the creativity of culinary students to prepare their own menudo recipe.

The requirements for entering into the finals will include Moghavem’s recipe, sample of the winning soup, photograph/s and short video less than one minute in length for final judging. From there, Juanita’s Foods will select two students that will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship. The two grand prize winners, along with their faculty, will win a trip to Los Angeles for the Guinness world record event in January 2018.
