On November 8, 2017, The Art Institute of Atlanta hosted our annual Veteran’s Day Appreciation Luncheon as a token of our gratitude for the 250+ Ai Atlanta students who are veterans, active military, or military family members.

Prior to the event, our Student Services team called each of our student veterans to invite them to the luncheon as well as to personally thank them for their service. Several members of our community also spoke at the event, including campus President Newton Myvett. Navy veteran and Director of Career Services, Leo Ortiz, and Army veteran and Residence Life Coordinator, Erik Scherb, also shared their military experiences along with words of encouragement for those in attendance.

The event was also a chance for military students to come together in one location, with several students, including Bianca Simmons, BFA in Media Arts & Animation student and Student Veteran Ambassador, volunteering to share their stories as well as discuss the drive and passion that brought them to pursuing a creative arts degree at Ai Atlanta.

The luncheon was held on campus in the Janet S. Day Gallery, with images from the event posted on Ai Atlanta’s Instagram and Facebook. Thank you again to all of our veteran students and staff!
